Week 2 – Photo-Retouching

Welcome to a photo-retouching Week 2 assignment. Here we will explore some of the very basic tools found in Photoshop (PSD) and why Adobe PSD tool, skill and experience is so valued and needed in digital media deliverables.

You will download this image and FILE OPEN it in PHOTOSHOP. Here are three very different approaches to photo-retouching video tutorials to guide you on photo-retouching tools and methodologies – these are basic tools found in PSD program for photo-retouching. Be sure to also view my personal video tutorials to cover again basic tools in PSD.

Throughout the semester you will learn each week more PSD tools to composite, manipulate, or blend multiple images, or edit the light, the perspective, use textures and much more image manipulation tools – too many to list.

For Week 2 assignment – you will begin to peruse the PSD tools to correct the above photo. At the end of Week 2, Sunday evening upload your progress of the photo.

You may not be pleased with the result after a week, so it is possible to improve this photo when you have the time all through the 15 weeks of the semester. You will begin to learn more tools so that you can go back and fine tune the end result. Each time you work on this image be sure to upload your progress and explain what tools were used to create the final version.

Upload all of your versions/progress to the WordPress page title Photo-retouching. Be sure to explain what tools you did use and what you have discovered in your technique.

This page will be invaluable for internships and where you can find other free-lance work as you continue your digital media education.

Trying to find a completed image of this photo on Google or AI will not help you learn PSD. Photo-retouching is a skill that is very much in demand for every business. You will enjoy the process of photo-retouching. Be sure to upload the damaged photo to your WordPress page so that your progress will be visible and demonstrate how well you were able to improve the quality of the image. Go even further and colorize the photo to demonstrate your advance skills.
